💊 Covimectin 12 mg Tablet – Overview
Covimectin 12 mg contains Ivermectin, a widely used antiparasitic medicine that kills and paralyzes certain parasites and worms in the body.
⚙️ Mechanism of Action
Ivermectin in Covimectin works by:
-
Binding to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in nerve and muscle cells of parasites.
-
This causes an increase in cell membrane permeability to chloride ions → paralysis and death of the parasite.
-
It selectively targets parasites, not humans, due to differences in the nervous system structure.
